Update Your Company Information

We've added a few new fields to the Company Information section in the Account Management area on Worldbid.

We highly recommend that you take a moment to update this information as it is now included with your Company Showroom and your Directory listings to provide potential business partners with more comprehensive information about yourself and your organization.

New Parent for Crude Oil

The Crude Oil sub-category has been relocated to the Petroleum category from Raw Materials/Natural Resources. It was felt by our development team that Petroleum was a more logical parent category for Crude Oil and that this move will cut down on any potential confusion amongst our new members.

Focus: Company Overview & Logo
 

Your Company Overview is a short summary of your business and is a key element that is often overlooked by new members to Worldbid. This information is included along with your company's contact information in both your Company Showroom and your Directory listings, so it pays to take the time to craft a well-written and informative Company Overview.

We recommend that you include such information as:


Logo / Corporate ID - The inclusion of your logo will strengthen your name recognition and assist in establishing your brand in the marketplace.

Mission Statement - Provide a brief description of your organization's objectives both in the present and the future, including the following information:

  • A synopsis of the products and/or services that you provide
  • Specific markets or market sectors that you serve
  • Benefits that your company brings to the buyer or seller
  • Regions of the world that you are capable of servicing

Company History - By providing a brief history of your company, you can establish your record in the industry as well as highlight any significant achievements or milestones that you have accomplished. It also helps to assure potential clients of your legitamacy and gives them a frame of reference when completeing any due diligence.

Associations, Affiliations and Certifications - Listing information on your active membership in various associations [chambers of commerce, manufacturing groups such as the AGC or NAPM, etc] as well as any certifications that your organization has received [ie: ISO, etc] helps to establish your business credentials and provide differentiation between your company and others in your industry.

Regional Offices - Most likely, your head office is loacted at the address you provided when you registered. If it is not and/or if you have additional regional offices, you may wish to include this information as well.

Call to Action - Consider closing your overview with a statement encouraging viewers to contact you for additional information or the like.

Q   How should I respond to a trade lead or Email Trade Notification [ETN] received through Worldbid?

A  

When responding to a trade lead located on the site or received through Worldbid's Email Trade Notification [ETN] service, there are a number of key elements to consider/remember.

Be Professional and Direct in Your Response

Address the response to the the contact listed with the lead, if applicable, and focus on the specific requirements outlined in the lead. Provide as much information on the specific requirements as possible, such as pricing, available quantities, locations, payment terms and the like. Make it easy for the other organization to assess whether your company is right for them.

Do not send a generalized introductory letter as this is likely to generate much less interest or attention than a response outlining your ability to provide the requested product.

If responding via telephone or fax, you may need to append additional international long distance country/region codes to the numbers provided. Also bear in mind any time zone differences between your location and the location of the company you are contacting.

If you wish to include additional information about your company and its related services or products, please do so at the end of the message.

Worldbid Policies Regarding Contact Information

All contact information available to Worldbid is included with the trade lead. We do not have alternate telephone or fax numbers.

Although the email address is masked on the trade lead, your message is delivered directly to the other party. You may respond to this address as you would normally from within your email client or through the online form provided on the Worldbid site.

In order to protect our members privacy, Worldbid does not release un-masked email address information.
